Contaminated Land Investigation, Former Railway Yard, Nobby

Yarramine was engaged by Toowoomba Regional Council to conduct a pre purchase due diligence contaminated land investigation at the former railway yards at Nobby on Queensland Darling Downs.

This site has been historically used for a railway station, goods and grain storage since the 1880's. This site had included sheds for grain storage, goods shed as well as Railway Station building and Platform. The objectives of the contamination land investigation were in a lead up to the purchase settlement of Lot 194 and adjoining Lots by Toowoomba Regional Council.

The scope of the investigations expanded as information came to hand during its course and ultimately included assessment of Soil samples and analysis programs. The investigation on Lot 194 was found to present a low risk of contamination for the proposed land use of redeveloping this site likely for recreational purposes, which includes a combination of parkland and caravanning and camping stopover.
